Drink Green with an Undercounter Water Filter

Did you know that, all told, the citizens of the United States of America drink over thirty billion bottles of store-bought water per year?  It takes over one and a half million barrels of oil to make the plastic used for these water bottles.  That’s  one and a half million barrels of oil that could be going into your car instead, and with the gas shortage in the South, those barrels are needed. Why not consider an undercounter  filter?

More than eighty percent of the empty bottles are just thrown away.  They end up in a landfill, or they end up incinerated, which releases toxins into the atmosphere.  The amount of water shipped overseas is astronomical, too: 1.4 million bottles from Finland alone reach Saudi Arabia one way or another.   There are even more bottles of water from Fiji sent to the United States.

With an under the sink filter, you can help save the planet by reducing the amount of bottles of water that are made, shipped, and disposed of in the United States.  If you’re trying to live a green lifestyle, forget the bottled water and get yourself an under counter water filter for your home.  And if you’re not… well this is an easy way to start!
