The Dwarf Black Olive Pre-Bonsai

What’s really cool about bonsai trees that live in your house is the very, many types of trees and plants you can choose from.  There are sub-tropical or tropical shrubs, trees and plants.  But you won’t find many quite like this Dwarf Black Olive Pre-Bonsai.  It has leaves that are quite unique, long, dark green and rather leathery and if you’re looking for a unique gift idea to send to  a special  Southern Gardener on your list this tree is a great choice because it’s a real heat lover.

In spite of it’s appearance, like most indoor bonsai trees you won’t want to let it ever go dry.  Water it when  the top inch of potting medium feels dry at the touch.  Because this tree won’t tolerate temperatures below 45 degrees you’ll want to make sure that you find a hot sunny spot in the house for it long before it gets cooled, but be sure to summer it outside.  When  it cools off a bit in the winter, it’s not at all unusual for this tree to drop a lot of leaves, but come the spring – sit it out in full sun, fertilize it well and the leaves will come back.  This bonsai will be shipped in its training pot – 6 inches and when you’re training it, just keep an eye out for the thorns.
